Week 38: African Continent, People and Music

Week 38 From: April 27th To May 1st, 2015
“African Continent, People & Music” – “Continente Africano, Personas Y Musica”

Hello Parents and welcome to a new week!  
During this week, our goal is for our children to learn about places, races, cultures, music, and traditions of different countries of Africa and Oceania. We will enjoy doing a virtual safari in South Africa, learning about Egypt, its history and pyramids. We’ll also be observing small countries in Africa, such as Malawi, and learning about their people and culture. In addition, our children will take a fun tour to Australia with Barnaby Bear, and will learn about the Māori culture of New Zealand. We will also learn the letter H, the number 16, and we will continue to increase their Spanish vocabulary. Finally, we will work on projects that we will show in the Science Week.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
Please, remember to check if your child has a set of changing clothes at school.  They need to wear warm clothes (mittens and hats).

·         Invite your child to select a book and bring it to the class.

Week 37: European Continent, People & Music

“European Continent, People & Music” – “Continente Europeo, Personas y Musica”

Hello Parents and welcome to a new week!  
This week we will continue learning about countries around the world.  This time, we will emphasize in the European Continent.  Our goal for this week is to increase children’s curiosity about lifestyle around the world.   We will identify the most important European countries, like Italy, Holland, Spain, UK, and France.  We will continue working on letters sounds, numbers from 11 to 15, and we will work on sight words in Spanish.    


SONG OF THE MONTH: La Chacarera

Cuando chacareras comienzo a cantar

La chacarera del rancho, señor. 
¡claro que si! !claro si, pues! 

Dentro de mi rancho, colgao a un horcón,

“Asian Continent, People & Music” – “Continente Asiatico, Personas Y Musica”
Welcome dear Parents to a new week! Thank you for your participation at the International Fiesta! We begin a new week and our goal will be for the children to learn about the different aspects of the Asian Continent, including: its races, cultures, music, and traditions. Also, we will learn about many countries, such as: China, India, Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Philippines. Also children will learn the letter Q and the number 15, and we will continue to increase their Spanish vocabulary. We will have a fun week!

“American Continent, People & Music” – “Continente Americano, Personas Y Musica”

Welcome Dear parents to a new week:
The goal for the class during this week will be learn more about countries and continents at the American Continent. Through the use of different media elements, like books, videos and pictures children will have access to different countries and contrast them with their own.  In addition, we will continue practicing letter sound recognition and numbers from 10 to 14.
