“My Body”

Dear Parents,
Welcome to this new week. This week, we will learn more about our bodies by teaching children how to correctly draw the human body through many activities, including modeling and making a puzzle.  We will also reinforce some basic Spanish vocabulary, such as spatial positions and colors.  Please feel free to send pictures and books that children can share in the classroom.

Las partes de mi cuerpo hoy voy a cantar,
bailando con mis amigos cada parte
moverás empiezo con mis bracitos
con los que puedo abrazar con
mucho amor a papito y luego a mi mama.

Learning activities:
In Art, we will make multicultural paper dolls.   In Language, we will practice Spanish vocabulary using colors.   In Math, we will learn about right and left and other spatial positions.

Friendly Reminders:

·            Please, remember to check if your child has a set of changing clothes at school.
·            Do not forget your child’s blanket on Friday and any craft in his/her cubby.    
·            Send sunscreen for your children and fill out the associated Sff! form. 
·            Please send a family picture for our family tree.

“My School and Me”

 

Dear parents,
Welcome to a new week.  I hope everybody is ready to start a new season.  This week, we will get to know more about ourselves, by demonstrating to the children how to draw a human body and identify the difference between left and right.  We will also start learning the Spanish Alphabet, this week we will start with vowel “A”. Please feel free to send pictures and books that children can share in the classroom.
Learning activities:
In Art, we will make a SFF sign using plastic lids.  In Language, we will learn the vowel “A”. In Math, we will learn about right and left and other spatial positions.

Week 53 from August 10th to August 14th, 2015
“Olympics Games SFF”
Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new exciting week, and to the end of the Summer Camp! We had lot of fun during this season and I hope everybody enjoyed it.   These last summer week students will be introduced to the Olympic Games theme.   They will learn about sports, competitions through dynamic activities, like Olympic Hoop Games.

I want to thank you for all of your support during summer camp. We have enjoyed all of the activities and themes that were developed this year for our children. We had a blast! Thank you again and see you next school year.

Our Meet and Greet is on August 17, 2015 at 6:30pm at the Glenwood location. The first day of school is on August 18, 2015. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Learning activities:
In Art, we will make an Olympic torch.  In Language, we will play memory games with Sports vocabulary. In Physical Education, they will participate in competitions and games.  Finally on Friday we will have a Dismissal Party for Summer Camp.

“The Circus- El Circo”

Dear Parents,
Welcome to an exciting new week! I hope everybody is enjoying this relaxing time of the year.   For this week the students will start learning about the incredible world of the circus.   They will learn about the unforgettable “Soleil Circus” presentations.  Also, they will continue improving their Spanish language skills and making their own vocabulary books.

Learning activities:
In Art, we will make a clown mask.  In Language, we will play memory game with circus vocabulary.  In Writing, the prompt will ask what can be discovered through the senses in a circus. In Science, we will perform an experiment with baking soda and vinegar.
