Theme of the Week:  “My senses”

Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new week and month!  We will start to work on a new topic: “My senses”, and the children will have the opportunity to learn about them by exploring their own senses in amazing ways. Our goal will be for children to be able to identify each one of their senses and to learn how they can take care of them. Also, the children will learn that, by using their senses, they can know a lot about their environment and of the world around them.
We will continue encouraging children to learn Spanish as a second language in a fun way while they continue growing up and enjoying of funny activities in a comfortable, healthy and safe environment.

Learning activities:

  • Math: Children will learn a new number, associate this number with quantity, and trace it. Also, they will learn geometric shapes.
  • Language and literacy: Children will continue to learn vowels, trace them, and identify them on syllables.  Also, children will learn to make sentences with words and images.
  • Art: Children will create with clay a surprise for their families.

Friendly Reminders:

“How I Grow and Change”

Dear Parents,

This week, our class is learning how our body changes and grows. We consider it important that the child is aware of the stages and changes that arise in the body. We recognize the characteristics and objectives, similarities, and differences in the chronological stages. We also promote respect for others, and raise awareness of how important it is to have a healthy diet to ensure good growth. Also we are introducing the rhyme and star words, we began to send the notebooks home, for the homework. We are asking for some items that we need for this week: a baby doll and baby pictures for each child in our class. We are very pleased with the strides our Ositos have made. They have become very good friends and have enjoyed sharing with new teachers.
We also will continue to promote adaptation, interaction, and participation in our children through fun activities, while continuing to work the rules of conduct and discipline.
****Monday 14th will be the special event where we ask our kids to bring a baby or a doll or an action figure to get a pretend shot from one of our volunteer parents who will be our doctor that day ***
