What are we learning?

Dear Ositos Parents,

Welcome to a new school year at Sff! We are also excited to welcome new children in our classroom! We are looking forward to getting to know you and your child. Children will need to adapt to a new teacher and new friends, we will be with them in every step of the way. This week our theme will be My school and friends! Children will start exploring the school as a big house and a big family. We have scheduled exciting learning activities related to this theme that will allow us to continue strengthening motor, cognitive-sensory and language. Children will get familiar with all the school materials and our guidelines and rules in the classroom.

What are we learning?

Dear Dinosaurs Parents,

The last week of Summer Camp is finally here and we want to thank you for giving us the opportunity  to teach and take care of your little children. The children have enjoyed all our learning activities including Camping Day, Splash Day, Princesses and Knights Parade, etc.

This week we will learn to be Little Clowns and Magicians. Children will explore the amazing world in the circus. They will learn interesting facts about the clowns, the magicians and the trapeze artists. We have scheduled exciting learning activities related to this theme that will allow us to continue strengthening motor, cognitive-sensory and language skills such as painting a circus, discovering a clown from the surprise box, making clowns with paper plates and participating in a trapeze artist show with balls and blocks. They will also create a circus tent as an art project. On Thursday, we will also have a social event at Sff! Children will dance, play and have a lot of fun.

We are getting down to the last few weeks of Summer Camp! This week we will learn to be Little Athletes. We will continue creating safe learning environments that offer the children the opportunity to explore sports. We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us to continue strengthening motor, cognitive-sensory and language skills. One of them is the Olympics Parade at Sff! Children should wear sports clothes for the parade. They will also participate in olympic competitions and we will read books about sports and The Olympics.

Materials for Special Projects/Activities

This week we will learn to be little creators. We will continue creating safe learning environments that offer the children the opportunity to explore, experiment and create products or inventions using a variety of recycled materials. We will make animals and also TV using boxes, create flowers using plastic bottles and mosaics using stones. We will discuss how important is to care for nature and to recycle materials. We will also talk about the animal world.

We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us to continue strengthening motor and cognitive-sensory skills. Children will have fun while working on different art projects through the week such as maracas, a house, a lion, etc.

This week the children will be reviewing favorite topics they have learnt in the school year 2015-2016. We will discuss how we have grown in the past year and we will play outside. Children will also learn about Pablo Picasso and we will review the abc and words we have learnt through the year.

We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us strengthen motor and cognitive-sensory skills such as art projects, games and outdoor activities such as:

Look at pictures taken through the whole year.
Play soccer and basketball.
Make a collage.
Work on a artcraft about Mona Lisa.
