Weekly Featured Theme: The Solar System - The Planets & The Stars

What are we learning?

Dear Ositos Parents,

This week the children will be learning about the earth, the sun, the moon and the stars. Children will discover the differences among these stars through play. We will also talk about activities that takes place during day and night. We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us strengthen motor and cognitive-sensory skills such as art projects, games and outdoor activities.

Friendly Reminders

• Check your child’s cubby every Friday and take home your child’s blanket for laundry. Make sure to bring it back on Monday.
• Make sure to bring an extra set of clothing appropriate to weather.
• Remove all your child projects completed from the cubby.
• Sunscreen is important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn. Yet applying sunscreen to your child requires planning. If sunscreen must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and label the sunscreen bottle with your child's name.
• Motivate your child to read at home.

 Holidays & Upcoming Events

Memorial Day on Monday, May 30th. School will be closed.

Report cards will be sent home on Friday, June 3rd.

What are we learning?

This week the children will be learning about insects through play. We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us strengthen motor and cognitive-sensory skills such as:

●        Reading: children will start reading level C books.

●        Learning math: children will start with additions (0 to 10).

●        Learning science while discovering the insect world.

Friendly Reminders:

• Please, remember to check if your child has a set of changing clothes at school.

• On Monday, please bring diapers and towels with your name or initials for use during the week if possible, thank you.

• Please avoid bringing toys from home, these could break or get lost.

IMPORTANT DATES

May 14th- Graduation (Only Ositos classes)

May 17th- Pet parade (If you want to bring your pet, please feel free to stop by at our front desk and add your name in our sign-up sheet)

May 26th- Marbles Museum Field Trip (Sapitos and Ositos classes only). Please make sure to return them on time.

May 30th- Memorial Day- School Closed

Theme of the Week:  My pets and I/ Farm animals

Hola Parents,

We hope everybody is excited about the Graduation ceremony.  Children are very enthusiastic about this event.  They would like to present all the knowledge and skills learned through all this year.  We will be very glad to have your attendance this day.    

Learning activities:        

In Math, we will learn how to make sets according to the kind of animals. 

On Language, we will pass to read, level C books.

On Art we will make an Art project about Farm animals.

Friendly Reminders:

• Please, remember to check if your child has a set of changing clothes at school.

• Do not forget to send your homework on time.
• Support your children with daily reading activities, remember that this will be a key strategy in their success in school.
